Abstract

As part of an inventory of spiders in the recently (2014) founded Black Forest National Park, scree slopes were surveyed for the spiny scree wolf spider Acantholycosa norvegica sudetica (L. Koch, 1875) using pitfall traps. In 2017 considerable numbers of this species were trapped in each of the 13 examined scree slopes within the park boundaries as well as at its margins. In 2018 four additional screes were surveyed for the occurrence of this species. As byproducts to the valuable data on the scree wolf spider, these catches provided several records of rare spider species that are surprising for both faunistic and biogeographic reasons. Philodromus laricium Simon, 1875 and Troxochrota scabra Kulczyński, 1894 were recorded for the first time in Germany. Clubiona alpicola Kulczyński, 1882, Sittisax saxicola (C. L. Koch, 1846), Calositticus rupicola (C. L. Koch, 1837), Evansia merens O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1901 and Megalepthypantes collinus (L. Koch, 1872) have not been previously recorded in Baden-Württemberg. Pardosa nigra (C. L. Koch, 1834) was so far only known from the alpine mountain system. Evidence for the following species is noteworthy, because they have either not or only very rarely been recorded in the past decades: Clubiona frutetorum L. Koch, 1867, Echemus angustifrons (Westring, 1861), Episinus maculipes Cavanna, 1876, Lepthyphantes notabilis Kulczyński, 1887, Rugathodes bellicosus (Simon, 1873), Sagana rutilans Thorell, 1875, Thanatus sabulosus (Menge, 1875), Theridion betteni Wiehle, 1960, Thyreosthenius biovatus (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1875), Thyreosthenius parasiticus (Westring, 1851), Trichoncus affinis Kulczyński, 1894. Also remarkable are the regular captures of Gnaphosa bicolor (Hahn, 1833) in three scree slopes.
