Records of Clubiona similis L. Koch, 1867 in the Upper Rhine area in Baden-Württemberg/Germany (Araneae: Clubionidae)

The first record of Chthonius (C.) alpicola (Pseudoscorpiones, Chthoniidae) in Germany and new localities in Austria are presented.

Ground inhabiting spiders were investigated during the vegetation periods of , 1998 and 2000 in four pine forests of Brandenburg, Germany. 1995 three of them were managed in different ways and one area served as a control. In total 105 different species were found and the lowest number of species was found on the control area. Due to the management the pine forests got opened and xerophilous species could settle the areas. In total a heterogeneous species community was found on each area. From year to year high rates of species turnover were measured even for the dominant species (> 5 % of all collected individuals per area and year). Some endangered species in Brandenburg were collected as well.

In this third supplement to the Catalogue of Swiss spiders of Maurer & Hänggi (1990) 9 species are recorded for the first time for Switzerland. 4 additional species already published elsewhere are added to the list of Swiss spiders. 5 other earlier published species are listed, which are only known from greenhouses or under similar eusynanthropic conditions. The list of spiders known to Switzerland today comprises 944 species.

First German field population of Theridion hannoniae Denis, 1944

An updated check list of the Hungarian jumping spider fauna is presented. 70 species are recorded from Hungary so far. Four species are new to the Hungarian fauna: Hasarius adansoni, Neon valentulus, Sitticus caricis, Synageles subcingulatus. With 12 original drawings.

Results are presented with respect to faunistics and are briefly discussed. Notes concerning Bavarian faunistics are added for the following remarkable species: Arctosa perita, Centromerus capucinus, Collinsia inerrans, Haplodrassus dalmatensis, Haplodrassus minor, Meioneta fuscipalpa, Talavera aperta.

In 2000 and 2001 the spider communities along ten low mountainous streams in Thuringia, Hesse and Lower Saxony were studied. Pitfall traps were set along a perpendicular transect extending from close to the water's edge to a distance of about 10-30 m away. Additonally, hand collectionwithin defined areas and time-frames was carried out. In order to investigate colonization patterns experimentally, coarse substrate was exposed simultating newly-developed bars. In total 164 species were detected. 138 species were caught only in the pitfall traps of which 75 (54%) species were caught not only in grassland but also in other floodplain habitats. 19 speciese were restricted to unvegetated banks or open stream bars. 12 species had a significantly higher abundance along restored sections compared to sections which are still regulated, and therefore would be positively influenced by increased fluvial dynamics whereas no species showed a significantly reduced abundance in response to restoration. Oedothorax agrestis, Pirata knorri and Pirata latitans are regarded as typical for the riparian spider community of low mountainous streams.
